With Covid-19 affecting so many things, our Drop-Off site for the Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection was affected. Our collection (N0v. 16-23) was “No-Contact” where we will removed the shoeboxes from the cars of those bringing them to the Drop-Off site. We collected 487 boxes! THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HElPED WITH THIS MINISTRY! In order to offer people opportunities to fill a shoebox on-line, we set up a link and collected an additional 35 boxes that way.
To understand the impact this has, here is the story of Karabo. He is a young man in a kingdome in southern Africa (Lesotho.) He had lost his parents a grandmother by age 11. His grandmother had taught him about God’s love but he was lonely and sad when he heard the Gospel at a church that was handing out shoebox gifts. HE STILL CARRIES THE COMB THAT WAS IN THE SHOEBOX! It reminds him that God knows his needs, and even little things can bring joy. The shoebox gave him home and a desire to know more about God and he has surrendered his life to Him!
