Rev. Dr. Bernardo Lourenco was appointed by Bishop Latrelle Easterling to serve as the pastor of the West Harford Cooperative Parish on July 1, 2022. He was born and grew up in Angola receiving a bachelor’s degree in Divinity at Africa University in Zimbabwe, came to the United States in 2000, completed his M. Div at Wesley Theological Seminary (2004), an MBA in 2007, and a Doctor of Business Administration (2013). Previously he served at Calvary/Casa del Pueblo UMC in Washington DC (2004-2010) and Simson Hamline UMC (2010-2022).
The West Harford Cooperative Parish consists of William Watters Memorial UMC and Centre UMC.
William Watters Memorial UMC is a small church, with a family atmosphere. Our worship service (10:45 a.m.) is rather informal, with music from a vocal choir and a handbell choir being an important part of our worship. There are opportunities for everyone to participate in our worship and in the various ministries of the church. Sunday School is held (September-May) for children and adults; and, there is a Young Disciples Message every week during the worship service.
