William Watters Memorial UMC, 1452 Jarrettsville Road Jarrettsville, is excited to be an Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Drop-off location.
For 2019, the drop off times are:
Mon, Nov 18: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Tues, Nov 19: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Wed, Nov 20: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Thu, Nov 21: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Fri, Nov 22: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Sat, Nov 23: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Sun, Nov 24: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM & 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Mon, Nov 25: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Please follow the instructions below before dropping off your box.

- SHOEBOX: Use an OCC or empty shoe box (standard size, please) or a plastic container You can wrap the box (lid separately), but wrapping is not required. PRAY for the child who will receive your gift! Attach a label (they are available at the drop-off site if you do not have one.)
2. Fill the box with things such as:
– small TOYS (cars, balls, stuffed animals, yo-yos, jump ropes, slinky)
– extra BATTERIES if things in the box require them, such as flashlights
– SCHOOL SUPPLIES (paper, stamp sets, pens, pencil & sharpener)
– HYGIENE ITEMS (toothbrush, comb, washcloth, bar soap
– socks, T-shirts, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, jewelry, watches
– plastic cups, bowls (you can put small items inside the cups/bowls)
-a personal note to the child (photo & address, too, if you’d like)
– A “WOW” item, something special to bring delight to a child.

DO NOT INCLUDE the following: (and DO NOT attach things to box)
– NO USED OR DAMAGED ITEMS!
– NO TOY GUNS, KNIVES, MILITARY FIGURES/WAR-RELATED
– NO LIQUID or LOTION (no hand sanitizer, liquid soap/shampoo)
– NO TOOTHPASTE, MEDICATIONS or VITAMINS
– NO AEROSOL CANS
– NO BREAKABLE ITEMS
– NO CANDY or FOOD items.
3. PROVIDE a $9.00 donation IN THE BOX. write a check to Samaritan’s Purse and note “OCC” on memo & place it in an envelope inside the box. OR, to follow your box, use OCC’s online donation option: https://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/followyourbox/ “Follow Your Box Donation” option) If you cannot afford the donation, ask a friend to help with that; or, bring your shoebox even if you do not have a $9.00 donation!!!
